This is a premium quality solid wood alternative to the Bekant oak veneer desk top (which retails at £75 excluding delivery). All the holes are pre-drilled to the exact same dimensions, so we guarantee a perfect fit. Please read our Frequently Asked Questions to learn about the process, the quality of our wood, delivery time scales, maximum load, what’s included etc.
Our sustainably sourced European oak is finished with a high grade oil to bring out the natural colours, our pine is finished with a light brown wax.
How to get the perfect Bekant desk
- Buy IKEA Bekant legs here (smaller) or here (larger) (from £400 + delivery)
- Buy our desk top from this page (from £190 including delivery)
- Enjoy your beautiful hand-made desk.
The Bekant desk legs cost £400 excluding delivery from IKEA directly, we advise you buy the legs directly (search for “302.783.03” or “402.783.07“), then buy this excellent alternative desk top instead of the oak veneer standard top.
Oak or Pine?
This is a matter of preference, and also budget. Oak and pine have their own properties. Oak is a hard wood, whilst pine has hard and soft wood properties. Pine visually has a less tight grain, but still has lots of character. Pine is easier to mark and less glossy to touch and look at, and so you may wish to apply a polyurethane finish. Oak is less likely to mark when spilled on, and has a glossier finish.
